Between 2010 and 2011, Jelaine created a series of paintings with the goal being to concentrate on two or three colors dominating the composition - essentially Chromotherapy although not as strict as the literal definition of the term. Her desire was to simplify what were otherwise very complicated still life arrangements, eliciting a greater sense of calm and peace. Much of the subjects were arranged in a way that created rhythmic patterns and contrasts of light and shadow that provided an additional therapeutic effect.
