The Monopoly ongoing series began as a one-off series of three paintings for an invitational group show with Elliott Fouts Gallery in the Spring of 2012. The title of the show was, 'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles' and, in looking for unique subject matter among her large collection of game boards and vintage items, Jelaine found a combination of things could add up to a few clever stories. She has loved the game of Monopoly since childhood, and painting all her favorite pieces was a nostalgic joy. So much so that she decided to leave the series open-ended, and continues to add to it in the eleven years since. Please click on the individual images below for title/size/medium.
